Penny Johnson from Surrey won £6m in damages yesterday against a plastic surgeon who she accused of "played God" with her life. She brought the High Court case against Le Roux Fourie who she accused of carrying out "experimental surgery" in 2003. Le Roux Fourie's solicitors accepted liability for the botched operation but denied that the procedure was experimental.
Mrs Johnson suffered nerve damage in a facelift, which led to her IT consultancy business going into administration.
Mr Fourie admitted liability but denied the surgery in Leeds was experimental. Mrs Johnson asked the judge to award her a proportion of the £54m she said was her potential loss as a 50% shareholder when her company failed in 2009.
During the hearing, Mrs Johnson said her face was "constantly contracting" as a result of the operation carried out at Bupa Methley Park Hospital in Leeds.
